VLAN ID—If the VLAN with the VSAN ID is not mapped to a VSAN, the VLAN ID in VFM is the

same as the VSAN ID. If the VLAN with the VSAN ID is mapped to another VSAN, VFM
automatically selects an unmapped VLAN ID.

Modifying a VSAN-VLAN mapping

This function allows you to modify VSAN-VLAN mappings on all FCoE switches of a VSAN. To ensure

communication within the VSAN, the VSAN-VLAN mappings on the FCoE switches must be consistent

with the VSAN-VLAN mappings in VFM.
To modify a VSAN-VLAN mapping in VFM:

1.

In the VSAN list, click the VLAN ID for the target VSAN.
The VSAN-VLAN Mapping area displays the VSAN-VLAN mapping in VFM.
The FCoE switch list area displays the VSAN-VLAN mappings on all FCoE switches of the VSAN.
If the mapping on a switch is the same as the mapping in VFM, the VLAN ID for the switch is

displayed in blue. If the two mappings are different, the VLAN ID for the switch is displayed in

red.

2.

In the VSAN-VLAN Mapping area, click the Modify icon next to the VLAN ID.

3.

Enter a VLAN ID that is not mapped to a VSAN.

4.

Click OK.

To synchronize a VFM VSAN-VLAN mapping to all FCoE switches, you can use one of the following

methods:

Modify VSAN-VLAN mappings on single FCoE switches:

a.

In the FCoE switch list, click the Modify icon for the target FCoE switch.

b.

Enter the VLAN ID displayed in the VSAN-VLAN Mapping area.

c.

Click OK.

The modified VLAN ID in the FCoE switch list turns from red to black.

Synchronize VSAN-VLAN mappings on all FCoE switches:

a.

In the FCoE switch list, click Synchronize to All.
A confirmation dialog box appears.

b.

Click OK.

Viewing the VFC interface list

The VFC interfaces of a VSAN allow traffic of the VSAN to pass.
HP recommends synchronizing FCoE switches before you view the VFC interface list.
To view the VFC interface list:
