Add zones to the active zone set.

Modify zones of the active zone set.

Delete zones from the active zone set.

Add zone members or zone aliases to a zone of the active zone set.

Modify zone members or zone aliases in a zone of the active zone set.

Configuring global zone parameters

1.

Click the Service tab.

2.

From the navigation tree, select VAN Fabric Manager > SAN Configuration > Fabric
Management.

In the fabric resources tree, click Fabric Management > the target fabric name > the target VSAN
name
> Global Zone Configuration.

To select the zone management switch:
The zone management switch initiates zone database distribution in the VSAN. The other
switches in the VSAN are referred to as managed switches.

a.

In the Zone Management Switch area, click Select Devices.
The Select Devices window appears. There are two areas on the page, the Query Switches
area and the Switch List area.
Switch List contents

Status—Alarm state of the switch in the IMC Platform.

Name—Label of the switch in the IMC Platform.

IP Address—IP address used by the switch when it was imported to the IMC Platform.

WWN—Factory-assigned WWN of the switch.

Query the switches by name and IP address.
The Name and IP Address fields support fuzzy matching.

c.

From the Switch List, select the target switch.
To ensure successful zone database distribution in the VSAN, select a switch from the VSAN.

d.

Click OK.

5.

Configure the following parameters:

Default Zone Policy—Select an option from the list to deny or permit mutual access among
members of the default zone. Click OK next to the list. The default zone consists of all zone
members that do not belong to the active zone set.

Zone Distribution Policy—Select an option from the list: Only Active Zone Set and Complete
Distribution. Click OK next to the list.

Only Active Zone Set—VFM only distributes the active zone set and zones of the active
zone set to all FCoE switches in the VSAN.

Complete Distribution—VFM distributes the whole zone database to all FCoE switches in
the VSAN.

Deactivate Zone Set—Click OK to deactivate the active zone set of the VSAN. If the VSAN has
no active zone set, this button is unavailable.

Distribute Zone Database—Click OK to distribute the latest zone database to all FCoE switches
in the VSAN.
