8. (Optional): Check

Import to Group

to create a group by the device name, and import all the channels of

the device to this group.

Example:

For access control device, its access points, alarm inputs/outputs, and encoding channels (if

exist) will be imported to this group.

9. Click

Add

to add the devices.

Add Device by IP Address or Domain Name

If you know the IP address or domain name of the device to add, you can add devices to the client by

specifying the IP address (or domain name), user name, password, etc.

1. Enter Device Management module.

2. Click

Device

tab on the top of the right panel. The added devices are displayed on the right panel.

3. Click

Add

to open the Add window, and then select

IP/Domain

as the adding mode.

4. Enter the required information.

Name

– Create a descriptive name for the device. For example, you can use a nickname that can show the

location or feature of the device.

Address

– The IP address or domain name of the device.

Port

– The devices to add share the same port number. The default value is

8000

.

User Name

– Enter the device user name. By default, the user name is

admin

.

Password

– Enter the device password.

STRONG PASSWORD RECOMMENDED

The password strength of the device can be

automatically checked. We highly recommend that you create a strong password of your own

choosing (using a minimum of eight characters, including at least three of the following

categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) in order to

increase the security of your product. We also recommend that you reset your password

regularly. Especially in high security systems, resetting the password monthly or weekly can

better protect your product.

Proper configuration of all passwords and other security settings is the responsibility of the

installer and/or end user.

5. (Optional): Check

Transmission Encryption (TLS)

to enable transmission encryption using TLS (Transport

Layer Security) protocol for security purpose.

NOTE:

This function should be supported by the device.

If you have enabled Certificate Verification, you should click

Open Certificate Directory

to

open the default folder, and copy the certificate file exported from the device to this default

directory to strengthen the security. See for details about enabling certificate verification.
