Monitoring HDMI 1.1 analyzer signal input
With the 882CA analyzer option, you can externally monitor the HDMI 1.1 video and/or
audio content of an incoming HDMI signal. This feature lets you view and hear HDMI
content that is received at the HDMI In connector while analysis and testing functions are
performed by the analyzer.
To monitor HDMI input:

Use the VGA-to-RCA cable provided (part 30-00150) to connect the AV connector with
a YPbPr display, and the audio connections, as shown below.

If you do not have the analyzer option, you will have the VGA-to-RCA cable (part
30-00148). Connect the AV connector to the generator’s SPDIF / AV port. Then connect
the red RCA connector to the SPDIF output of the external audio source.
Monitoring HDMI 1.3 analyzer signal input
With the 882EA analyzer option, you can externally monitor the HDMI 1.3 deep color video
and/or audio content of an incoming HDMI signal. This feature lets you view and hear
HDMI content that is received at the HDMI In connector while analysis and testing
functions are performed by the analyzer. However, unlike the 882CA where the video and
audio are monitored through the SPDIF AV port, with the 882EA, the incoming video is
monitored from the HDMI Tx (out) ports and the incoming audio is monitored through a
separate SPDIF output port.
The monitored video output is an HDMI video signal and requires an HDMI display.
Monitoring the incoming video signal requires that you put the generator into a specific
mode of operation called “passthru.” Passthru mode is invoked through the Interface key
by selecting Options or through the command line (these procedures are described
below). The monitored output from the HDMI Tx port is a pixel per pixel duplication of the
resolution of the incoming signal. There are a couple important things to note about the
passthru monitored video:
