4. Choose the connector to which the transmit device is connected by entering the

following commands:

XVSI:IN

// Selects the HDMI-1 input connector

// Applies the interface setting to the generator

5. Enter the following commands to run the pseudo-random noise test.

PNSP

100

// sets pseudo-random noise for 100 sequencs

PNAU

// runs the pseudo-random noise test for the specified

number of frames

Note: The test will stop automatically if configured to run in the single or multi-shot
mode. If you initiate the test in the continuous mode, you will have to enter a carriage
return to halt the test after PNAU is invoked.

6. Enter the following commands to view the results of the test.

GPER?

// returns the pixel error rate in errors per billion

GNPT?

// returns the number of pixels measured in billions

GCET?

// returns the number of bad pixels for R, G, B components

GFED?

// returns information about the first error encountered

To test cables through the command line:

1. Establish a session with the generator using either HyperTerminal over a serial

connection or Telnet over an Ethernet LAN. See

Configuring the generator’s serial

port

” on page 32 or

Establishing a Telnet session with the generator

” on page 34.

2. Connect the HDMI cable to be tested between an HDMI OUT and an HDMI IN

connector on the generator.

Note: If you are testing a distribution system, connect an access cable to the
distribution center to the HDMI OUT connector on the generator and a second access
cable to the HDMI IN connector on the generator.

3. Enter the following commands to activate the HDMI-H interface on the output port:
