Testing xvYCC

The 882E series test instrument enables you to test xvYCC displays. The feature provides
test images and support for transmission of the gamut boundry definition (metadata
transmission profile (only P0 currently).

The xvYCC or extended-gamut YCC is a color space that supports 1.8 times as many
colors as the sRGB color space. The xvYCC color space uses the full range of values (1 to
254 in an 8-bit space) to represent colors.

The Munsell Color System provides a standard way of describing colors and can be
applied to video systems. The Munsell Color System is shown in the figure below. A single
color is represented by three separate parameters of color: 1) Hue, 2) Value and 3)
Chroma. There are ten hues consisting of 5 basic hues and 5 intermediate hues. For each
hue there is a number from 0 to 10 placed before the symbol for the hue. This number
denotes the value which is the measure of lightness. The whitest value is given a 10 and
placed at the top while black is given a 0 and placed at the bottom. Chroma is the measure
