Step 2
The user is prompted to remove all reagent bottles from the
instrument (

). When the prompt has been confirmed

by the operator, a vacuum is generated at each reagent position
and then any remaining reagent in the hose is drawn into the
retort. During this process, a check is carried out of whether (a
greater than negligible quantity) of reagent has penetrated into
the retort and whether the vacuum is released quickly enough.
This serves to detect whether the bottle has really been re-
moved.
Finally, pressure is built up in the retort several times; then it is
vented normally (pressure cycles).
