Apply grease to the two ratchets (1).
Install the two ratchets and the two ratchet springs (2)to
the recoil starter pulley as shown.
Apply grease to the inside of the spring retainer (1).
Set the friction spring (2) and the spring retainer to there
coil starter pulley in the direction as shown.
Apply locking agent (Threebond® 2430 or equivalent) to
the threads of the center screw (3).
Hold the spring retainer and tighten the center screw tot
he specified torque.
TORQUE:
3.9 N·m (0.40 kgf·m, 2.9 lbf·ft)
Turn the recoil starter pulley (1) more than 2 turns counter-
clockwise to preload the starter return spring.
Be sure to hold the recoil starter pulley.
Pass the recoil starter rope through hole (1) of the recoils
tarter case, the starter grip (2), and reinforcement grip(3),
and then tie the rope as shown.Check the recoil starter
operation.
