FLYWHEEL

REMOVAL

7. Hold the flywheel with a commercially available

strap wrench, and remove the 16 mm special nut.

BEFORE ATTACHING THE STRAP WRENCH, REMOVE THE FAN
COVER STUD BOLTS AND CRANKSHAFT COWGIRL (CKP) SEN-
SOR. DO NOT POSITION THE STRAP WRENCH FULCRUM AT THE
FLYWHEEL MAGNET PART.

8. Remove the starter pulley and cooping fan.

9. Remove the flywheel with a commercially available

flywheel puller as shown.

DO NOT HIT THE FLYWHEEL WITH A HAMMER.

INSTALLATION

10. Clean the tapered part of dirt oil, grease and other

foreign material before installation. Be sure there are
no metal parts. or other foreign material on the mag-
net part of the flywheel.

11. Set the woodruff key in the key groove of the crank-

shaft securely.

The flywheel may push the key out of its slot; check
after installation.

12. Install the flywheel to the crankshaft.

13. Attach the cooling fan to the flywheel by aligning the

cutout of the cooling fan with the projection of the
flywheel. Attach the starter pulley by aligning the
hole of the pulley with the projection at the center of
the cooling fan.

14. Apply a light coat of oil to the threads once the seat-

ing surface of the 16 mm special nut, and loosely
tighten the nut.

15. Hold the flywheel with a commercially available

strep wrench, tighten the 16 mm special nut to tie
specified torque.

Torque: 165 N·m (16,8 Kgf·m, 122 lbf·ft)
