Tutorial Step Five

Finishing the Menus

Let's review what we have so far...assuming you have been following the tutorial and not
experimenting too much.
We have two menus:

• The first menu has a text title and a button that links to the second menu.
• The second menu has six buttons, each tied to a Chapter Point. The background is a

frame grabbed from the movie.

For the most part, this could be considered a complete title, ready to be simulated and
exported. There is one potential problem, however; there is no link back to the first menu
from the second. This may or may not be a problem, depending on how the title will be
used. For the tutorial, we will add a new button to the second menu, linking back to the
first. To do this:

1 Select the second menu in the Menu Gallery.
2 Click on the Menu Gallery's first menu and drag it onto a blank part of the second

menu. It is displayed as a new button using the default button.

3 Change the button to a solid style by selecting one from the Media Gallery and

dragging it onto the new button. The target of the first menu is still in place, and can
be verified by positioning the cursor over the button and watching the tool tip.

4 Size and position the button.

Save the current project by pressing Ctrl + S.
