SpruceUp User’s Guide

Choose the Write Device

SpruceUp detects all supported write devices connected to your system. Click on the arrow
at the Output To: entry to select the device you want to use. If your device is not listed or
you would prefer to manually copy the files to it, then select the Title Set option.

If You Selected a CD-R/RW or DVD-R Drive...

If you selected a CD-R/RW or writable DVD format drive to export to, SpruceUp will need to
use a working directory to compile to prior to writing the title to the drive. This directory
was setup during installation and should be fine. You can change the drive by viewing the
Advanced version of this menu and setting the Working Directory item.

If You Selected Title Set...

If you selected Title Set, you must also specify an Output Destination Folder Path. It is
recommended that you select the root directory of a drive with enough free space to hold
the project.
SpruceUp writes the Video_ts and Audio_ts folders to this path. The Video_ts folder contains
the files (including the menus and audio) that make up the DVD title (the Audio_ts folder is
empty – it is reserved for DVD Audio titles). It is these folders you will want to manually
copy to the final location.
Writing the title to the root of the drive allows you to play it back from the hard drive using
a software DVD player, such as InterVideo's WinDVD.

Choose the Items to Include

SpruceUp can automatically include three different things along with your DVD title:

• The Syzygy DVD Player – Including this with your title allows most Windows PCs

without DVD playback ability to play your title.

• A SpruceUp Trial Version – This allows you to include an installable SpruceUp trial

version with your title.

• DVD ROM Contents – You can also have SpruceUp copy the contents of a specified

folder to the disc. This could include text files or anything else you would like to
distribute with the title.

Note: Selecting Title Set as your Output To setting leaves these

settings grayed out since you will be manually writing to your disc.

Start the Write

Press the Write button to start the export. SpruceUp starts by compiling the project into a
Video_ts folder on the system's hard drive as specified. After this is complete, SpruceUp
starts writing to the CD-R/RW or DVD-R media (if present). You are prompted to insert a
blank disc if one is not already present.
You are prompted once the write is completed (the disc is ejected if appropriate).

At this point you are ready to play the title and verify that it is all you had hoped it would
be.
Congratulations!
