SpruceUp User’s Guide

Drive Names

When SpruceUp detects writable drives connected to the system, it displays them with
names that may seem a bit strange. An example would be:

OME-W141 (1.40) - H:0 T:0

The first part (OME-W141 in this case) is the actual name of the drive, as reported to
Windows. This can be a lot different than the brand or model number you know the drive
by. Verify this by double-clicking on the My Computer icon, right-clicking on the drive's icon,
then selecting Properties. Select the Settings tab to see the name as reported to Windows.
This same dialog shows the firmware version, which is the next thing displayed by SpruceUp
(1.40 in this case).
The last part displays the Host and Target. The Host (H:0 in this case) is a number
representing type of connection made (IDE, USB, or SCSI). The Target (T:0 in this case)
identifies this device number on that Host, which can be useful if you have multiple identical
drives connected.
This information can be handy for troubleshooting.
