SpruceUp User’s Guide

The other options are Disc Image and Title Set. Both of these write directly to a hard
drive on your system, with the goal of exporting them to a disc at a later date or manually
copying them to removable media not supported directly by SpruceUp.

Note: CD-R and DVD-R discs must be blank. You are prompted to

erase CD-RW discs prior to exporting if they contain content.

With Disc Image, a single file is created that SpruceUp (or any of Spruce's professional
DVD authoring applications) can later export to a CD or DVD disc. This can be an advantage
when the drive is not available, but you would like to compile the title, reducing the amount
of time spent later when writing it to disc. This file could also be sent to a service bureau to
have discs made that are suitable for set-top DVD player playback.
Enter the name of the Disc Image file as the Output Destination in the Folder Path
field.

Important: The Disc Image name in the Folder Path field must have

a ".img" extension (must be lower case, for example, My DVD.img) for
the disc image to compile.

A Title Set is a complete DVD title that can be played using a DVD player. See the Manually
Copying Files
to CD-R topic for details.
Disc Name - Enter the name of the title. This is the name used when building the title's
files. By default, it is the same as the file name used to save the project.

Output Destination
Folder Path
- This path is used only when the Output To setting is Disc Image or Title
Set
. This is where the files are written. Use the Browse button to locate the desired
location. Since most DVD players require the Title Set (Video_ts folder) to be at the root of
a drive, it is suggested to set the root (for example, D:\) as the path when writing a Title
Set
. When writing a Disc Image, enter the path and name of the file to be created, being
sure to include a ".img" extension on the file name.

Tip: To speed up the write process, set this to be on a different drive

than the ones containing the MPEG video and audio files and the Working
Directory (specified below).

Note: You are not prompted if any files will be overwritten while

creating a Title Set.

Warning: When writnig a Title Set, do not set the Output Destination

to an existing file's name – an error results.
