Tutorial Step Six

Simulating the Title

Before exporting your title to disc, it is a good idea to simulate it, verifying that all the
buttons link as you expected and that you have not left any orphan menus.
Start the simulator by clicking the Simulate button in the Main Control area or using the
shortcut of Ctrl + 2. Following are the buttons that appear on the Work Area's Toolbar.

Using the Simulator

As mentioned previously, the primary reason for simulating a title is to ensure the buttons
link as expected. The most common problem is providing a path to a menu that then has no
way back out except to go to the title menu.
It can be helpful to make a connections drawing as you create the menus and add the
buttons, especially with complex projects. This provides a good guide while simulating.

Warning: Do not have other DVD players (including the Syzygy

player) running on your system while in Simulation mode. This causes
conflicts within the system.

Exiting Simulation Mode

Once you are satisfied with the simulation, you must exit the simulation mode by selecting
either the Author ("1") or Export ("3") mode in the Main Control area.
