Error Messages
An error message displays when SpruceUp encounters an issue during its operation. Some
of the error messages are clear and easy to understand, while others could use a little
explaining. This section lists the error messages and explanations of what they really mean.

A
A buffer overrun/underrun error occured with the DVD-R drive!
Indicates that the system was unable to maintain the transfer rate while writing to the DVD-
R drive. Typically occurs when accessing drives over a network or heavily multi-tasking the
system.
A CD-R drive hardware error occured!
Confirm the CD-R/RW drive is plugged in, turned on, and the appropriate lights are lit. Shut
the computer down and completely power cycle everything. Ensure the drive is not
overheating.
A communication error occured with the ASPI Manager interface!
Indicates a conflict with a device and the ASPI manager. Verify the latest version of the
ASPI manager is installed.
A DLT drive hardware error occured!
Confirm the DLT drive is plugged in, turned on, and the appropriate lights are lit. Shut the
computer down and completely power cycle everything. Ensure the drive is not overheating.
A DVD-R drive hardware error occured!
Check the DVD-R drive for cabling or other issues, such as jamming or overheating.
A DVD-R drive UNIT ATTENTION ERROR occured!
Check the DVD-R drive for cabling or other issues, such as jamming or overheating.
A DVD-R write is in progress. Are you sure you want to cancel the write
operation?
Displays when you cancel during the write of a DVD-R disc. Cancelling results in a partially
written disc that will need to be discarded.
A media error occured. Please try new blank media into the CD-R drive.
An error writing to the CD-R/RW media.
A media error occured. Please try new blank media into the DVD-R drive.
An error writing to the DVD-R media.
A media error occured. Please try new media into the DLT drive.
An error writing to the DLT tape.
A MODE SELECT command error occured in the DVD-R SCSI drive!
A MODE SENSE command error occured in the DVD-R SCSI drive!
