2—17

Note: SpruceUp treats each movie as a separate title.

Tip: Many PC DVD players can play back individual .vob files.

Audio_ts Files

Compiling also creates an Audio_ts folder. This folder is always empty, and is not actually
required to be on the final disc, but is usually placed there anyway. It will be used for the
DVD-Audio specification.

Other Files

Other files and folders can be on the disc (outside of these two folders), creating a “Hybrid
DVD” or DVD-ROM. Set-top DVD players currently ignore these extra files and folders, but
DVD-ROM players on personal computers can use these files for a wide variety of exciting
things.

General Information

When you export a project, SpruceUp "muxes" the MPEG movies, menu, navigation, and
URL settings into a title set containing the Video_ts .vob files.

On Hollywood created DVDs, these files are also encrypted. SpruceUp does not encrypt
these files, and users can use 3rd party programs to "demux" the .vob files back into MPEG
data.
