PROFIBUS Devices

When you use a PROFIusb of Softing, as a PROFIBUS DP communication card, the Built-in

Connection mode is available for communication with PROFIBUS devices.
The Segment Viewer displays the PROFIBUS devices.
The list of devices in the PROFIBUS DP network (*) is displayed.

Up to 127 devices (subject to the PROFIBUS specification).

Devices to be displayed are only PROFIBUS devices in the PROFIBUS DP network to which the

PROFIusb is connected. Accordingly, the devices listed below are not displayed. For the devices

listed below, you can access them by creating a network topology in DTM Works using the

COMM/Gateway DTM (FDT Project).
Devices unavailable in Segment Viewer BIC mode window (PROFIBUS)

- Devices connected to the PROFIBUS DP network using a communication card other than

the PROFIusb.

- PA devices connected with a Siemens DP/PA link.
- HART devices via PROFIBUS/HART gateway.

The following shows the display items.

Items: Address, IDENT number, Vendor, Model (Device Type), Device ID

PT101

The status display icon is

always white. When you click it,

nothing displays.

Click this to execute Device

Setup and start up DTM Works.

Displays a red “!” icon for a

device not registered in the

database.

Yellow icon is displayed

when difference of device

information is found.

Displays icons indicating a

device flag and memo flag

for a device registered in the

database.

Displays the device address.
