E-2 Segment Viewer
This window displays a list of HART/FOUNDATION fieldbus H1/PROFIBUS/BRAIN/ ISA100
devices that are directly connected to FieldMate by a physical segment.
For HART and BRAIN communication, you can use an optional USB FieldMate modem by
directly connecting it to the field device.
Also, for FOUNDATION fieldbus and PROFIBUS communication, you need to separately
purchase a NI-FBUS Series 2 from National Instruments or FFusb from Softing (for
FOUNDATION fieldbus), a PROFIusb from Softing (for PROFIBUS), Infrared Adapter, ACT-
IR224UN-LN96-LE 9600bps (for ISA100) and YFGW Gateway (for ISA100) respectively, and
connect them to the bus that is connected to the field device.

The icon corresponding to the device is
displayed. If there is no corresponding
icon, an icon (shown below) indicating
the communication type is displayed
instead.
If you select a device, a frame
appears to indicate the device is
selected.
The window defined in option will
display by double-click.
If no device is connected or if a communication failure
has occurred, “No Device Found” appears instead.
If you click this icon, the DTM
Works or Parameter Manager
window starts.
The initial setting after installation is to display devices in the ascending
order of device addresses. The display order can be changed to the order of
device tags (with A at the top) in the option settings.
Click the Update button on the toolbar of the main window to refresh
information on devices connected to the segment currently displayed and
then update the display. The automatic update of information can be set in
the option settings.
The communication
status is displayed.
The Segment Viewer
window is displayed.
The History window is
displayed.
This indicates the self-diagnostic result for the device If
you click this icon, Device Viewer starts.
(Green): Normal
(Yellow): Warning including Configuration error. Will
not affect operation.
(Red): Failure requiring inspection (the device may
even need replacing)
(Gray): Communication error, etc. error, etc.
Select the network
segment to display
here.
(White): Display of status icon is set to OFF
(Device Viewer can still be started)
Device information are
displayed.
The device tag (up to 32
characters) and device
address are displayed.
You can select whether
to display a device
address as a decimal
number (0 to 255) or a
hexadecimal number
(0x00 to 0xFF).
