+WMBS – multi-band selection command

Description:

This command permits to select the GSM bands on which the modem has to work.
This command is allowed only if the selected bands are supported.

The user can choose if the change is immediate or not:

either the modem has to be reset to take this change into account
(this is the default case)

or the GSM stack restarts immediately on the specified band(s). In this mode, the com-
mand +WMBS is forbidden during the initialization phase of the modem and during calls.

Syntax:

AT+WMBS=<Band>[,<param>]

Response syntax:

+WMBS: <Band>,<ResetFlag>

Parameters:

<Band>

Frequency band configuration to be supported

0:

mono-band mode 850 MHz

1:

mono-band mode 900 extended MHz (900E)

2:

mono-band mode 1800 MHz

3:

mono-band mode 1900 MHz

4:

dual-band mode 850/1900 MHz

5:

dual-band mode 900E (extended) / 1800 MHz

6:

dual-band mode 900E (extended) / 1900 MHz

<Param>

Indicates the type of change

0:

The modem will have to be reset to start on specified band(s). <ResetFlag>
is set to 1.

1:

The change is effective immediately: the GSM stack is restarted with specified
band(s). <ResetFlag> stays at 0. This mode is forbidden while in communication
and during modem initialization.

NOTE:

If <Param> is not given, the modem has to be reset to start on specified band(s), as for
<param>=0.

<ResetFlag>

0:

the feature was not modified since the last boot of the product.

1:

the feature has been modified since the last boot of the product: it has to be reset
in order to take the modification into account. This is the case when the band was
changed with “AT+WMBS=<band>” or “AT+WMBS=<band>,0”.
