• Select the On radio button, then press OK. Bit 7 of address 1022 is now on.
• Select bit 6 of address 1015 by touching it. A black rectangle surrounds bit 7 of address
1022 to indicate that it is still being forced.
• Touch the Force... button to pop the Force I/O dialog.
• Select the Stop All radio button, then press OK. There are no longer any black rectangles
surrounding bits, and the two forced bits have reverted back to their previous values.

Forcing bits in keep memory (addresses above 7100) is slightly different.When the Type drop-
down menu is set to either Keep Relay or Keep Memory, the Force... button label changes to
Set.... Selected bits can now be turned on and off by pressing the Set... button, which pops the Set
Keep Memory
dialog, shown in Figure 3.7.18.4 on page 92.

The upper half of the Set Keep Memory dialog displays information about the selected bit. In the
lower half, the Set box is used to set the bit’s value to either On or Off. The value for the entire
byte can be changed by typing a new value into the Hex Value field and pressing Enter. OK will
commit changes made while the Set Keep Memory dialog is shown; Cancel discards any changes
made.
