B - Don’t Send

Status Message

It is possible to have the MultiPro unit initiate a message to a device. These
greeting messages are concerned with stations connecting to new hosts, hosts being
off-line, etc. If a device should not receive any of the defined messages, this option
should be turned on as shown in Figure 10-5. This prevents the MultiPro unit from
sending any of the user-defined messages to this device as illustrated in
Figure 10-4.

Since this is a device-level parameter, messages can be generated to some devices
on a port and not to others. Obviously, messages should not be generated to
printers. Messages should also not be generated to poll/select devices that are using
transparent transmission numbers since the MultiPro would not know what the
current sequence number was.
