The following sections explain each function shown on this menu. Each response
must be terminated by pressing Enter. Pressing ESC returns the display to either
the previous menu or the main menu.
Instant Recall of
Previous Entry
In using the Supervisory port, there is a special
command available to repeat a previous entry.
This command is CTRL+R. In using the various
options on the console port, you are prompted to
enter in numeric information to designate a
specific unit, line module, and/or port. Those
entries take the form of xxx, xxx.yy, and/or xxx.yy.zz, respectively. When entering
such a response, it is kept in memory. To recall the previous entry for a particular
command, type CTRL+R. For example, to obtain the status of a port several
consecutive times, the first time the command would be entered normally. The next
time, when asked for the destination link, press CTRL +R to recall the previous
entry. Another example would be to configure the default host connect name
(explained later) for a group of terminal addresses. First, enter all the addresses
without the connect name. When done, re-edit the first address, enter its connect
name, and go back to each address to edit the connect name. Just press CTRL+ R
to enter the same name.
