Boot Language
SCPI, 4500A Boot Language selects the default language
(Toggle) at instrument power-up. It does not change
the Current Language.
Curr Language
SCPI, 4500A Current Language permits viewing and
(Toggle) changing the language at any time without a
remote command. At power-up, the Current
Language is set to the Boot Language.

*IDN Response
4400, 4400A Selects model number the instrument returns
(Mult. Choice) 4500, 4500A in Emulation mode to *IDN? query.
4500B
Option Select
None, -S/1, Selects the option identifier appended to
(Mult. Choice) -04, -05, 06 the Emulation mode *IDN? query.
Ignore Unsupp
On, Off In 4400/4500/4400A/4500AEmulation mode
(Toggle) only, if ―On‖, ignores GPIB bus when an
unsupported command is received.
If ―Off‖, returns error message.

Note For compatibility purposes, the 4500B remote interface can be set to emulate the BOONTON 4400, 4500, 4400A
(including 4400A-L) and 4500A (including 4500A-L) series of instruments. For additional discussion of this
subject, see Section 5.2. To use the 4500B SCPI interface, set the Util > Remote Conf > Emulation > Curr
Language menu selection to SCPI. To emulate the 4400/4500 legacy interface, set the Util > Remote Conf >
Emulation > Curr Language menu selection to the desired model. To control the language in use at instrument
power-up, select your choice in the in the Util > Remote Conf > Emulation > Boot Language menu box.
