5.5.2 CALCulate Subsystem

The CALCulate group of the command subsystem is used to configure post acquisition data processing. Functions in the
CALCulate subsystem are used to configure the measurement mode and control which portions of the acquired measurement
data is used and how it is processed to yield a finished measurement. In addition to measurement mode, CALCulate is used
to define mathematical operations, measurement units, and limit monitoring. The numeric suffix of the CALCulate program
mnemonic in the CALCulate commands refers to a processing and display ―channel‖, that is CALCulate1 and CALCulate2
represent the power analyzer‘s Channel 1 and Channel 2 functions. The CALCulate commands generally DO NOT affect the
data acquisition portion of the measurement (see the SENSe subsystem, Section 5.5.12 ). In a signal-flow block diagram, the
CALCulate block operations will follow those of the SENSe block. Note that CALCulate2 commands will generate an error
if used with a single channel Model 4500B.

CALCulate:AMEAsure:BOTtom

Description:

Set or return the state of automatic IEEE pulse bottom detection for all channels. ON (default
state) enables the signal-based automatic detection of IEEE pulse bottom power as described in
section 6.3 on Automatic Pulse Measurements. OFF disables signal-based automatic bottom
detection, and forces the pulse bottom level to 0.0mW (-99.99dBm). This may be useful for
performing measurements in cases where the pulse bottom is noisy or there is RF leakage.

Syntax:

CALCulate:AMEAsure:BOTtom<asc>

Argument:

<asc> = {OFF, ON}

Valid Modes:

Pulse

CALCulate:AMEAsure:EDGEdelay

Description:

Set or return the edge delay selection method for all channels. FRST (default state) returns time
delay from left screen boundary to first edge transition on screen. LAST returns delay to last edge
transition on screen BRST returns the time interval from the first rising or falling edge onscreen
to the last rising or falling edge onscreen when AutoMeas Gate set to All or First. When
AutoMeas set to Markers, the BRST setting will return the time interval from the first rising or
falling edge to the last rising or galling edge within the marker interval.

Syntax:

CALCulate:AMEAsure:EDGEdelay<asc>

Argument:

<asc> = {FRST, LAST, BRST}

Valid Modes:

Pulse

CALCulate:AMEAsure:MODE

Description:

Set or return the automatic pulse measurement mode for all channels. ALL (default state) uses all
pulses that appear on the display; FRST uses only the first pulse from the left hand side; MRKRS
uses the trace data within the marker band; and OFF does not compute any auto measurements
which minimizes the processing time associated with signal acquisition and display.

Syntax:

CALCulate:AMEAsure:MODE <asc>

Argument:

<asc> = {ALL, FRST, MRKRS, OFF}

Valid Modes:

Pulse
