Argument A

Pulse, Mod & Stat

Selects the first item in the Channel Math

(Mult. Choice)

CH1, CH2

expression

Ext Trig 1, Ext Trig 2

Mem1, Mem2

Press the Chan Math > Expression >
Argument A
menu key to select either
―CH 1‖, ―CH 2‖, ―Trig 1‖, ―Trig 2‖,
―Mem 1‖ or ―Mem 2‖. Select an operator
(―+‖, ―-‖, ―*‖, or ―/‖) and a second argument
(see below) to complete the mathematical
expression that represents the calculated
waveform you wish to display. Any
combination of waveforms of the same type
can be selected as the arguments of the
expression. Statistical data can only be
compared with statistical data, and likewise
time based data can only be compared with
time based data. Cross comparisons result
in an error condition.

Operator

Pulse, Mod & Stat

Selects the operator for the mathematical

(Mult. Choice)

expression

Press the Chan Math > Expressions >
Operator
menu key to select either the plus
or minus sign to indicate whether the
designated waveforms are to be added,
subtracted, multiplied or divided point by
point. Not all operations are valid. See

(Indicator)

of the requested operation.

mW – the result is the point-by-point sum or difference of the
waveforms.

%Pwr – the result is the point-by-point ratio of the waveforms.
