Measuring Stopped!!

No measurements are being made.

CH 1 & 2 No Sensor

The instrument cannot detect a sensor connected on the specified channel.

The "Temperature Drift" message occurs only for sensors that do not contain

than ± °C from the original auto calibration temperature. For maximum accuracy a new autocal
should be performed on the channel. If not, a small additional error can be introduced into the
measurements.


Auto Triggering

Indicates that a valid, signal related trigger event is not occurring at regular intervals and the
instrument is supplying a trigger event to maintain a visible trace. The Auto and Auto Pk/Pk
modes create a visible trace even if the input signal does not meet the selected trigger conditions.
Under some conditions, the auto-trigger may interfere with the signal trigger. If this occurs, switch
the instrument to the Normal trigger mode in the Trig > Trig Mode menu.

Waiting for Trigger

In the Normal trigger mode the instrument is waiting for a valid trigger event. When a valid
trigger event occurs, the message is cleared. On slow time bases the message may appear for each
sweep.


Acquiring New Data

Indicates that the instrument is triggering and accumulating new measurements, but there is not
yet enough data for the instrument to complete the assigned averaging. If two channels are active
the channel with the largest averaging value is used to determine when the message is cleared.


Acquiring Pre-trigger Data Indicates that the instrument is triggering and accumulating new measurements

in anticipation of a trigger event. When a trigger event occurs, the most recent measurement data
will be resolved in time and placed ahead of the trigger position on the trace. At this point the
message will be changed to Acquiring New Data. This activity can only be observed on the slower
time bases.


Triggered

Indicates that the instrument is triggering normally. If the Auto or Auto Pk/Pk mode is selected, it
indicates that the signal trigger is occurring often enough to avoid the need for instrument supplied
auto-triggers.


Free Run

Indicates that traces are generated repetitively without regard to triggers. Helpful for locating
traces on the faster time bases when triggering is lost or erratic. No synchronization will occur.
After locating the trace and adjusting trigger conditions, select a Normal or Auto trigger mode for
synchronization.
