Disabling the

Event Logs

This procedure explains how to enable or disable the event logs on the
switch. If you disable the logs, the AT-S63 management software does not
store events in its logs and does not send events to any syslog servers.
The default setting for the logs is enabled.

Note

Allied Telesyn recommends setting the switch’s date and time if you
enable the event log. Otherwise, entries sent to the log or to a syslog
server will not have the correct time and date. For instructions, refer
to “Setting the System Time” on page 58.

To enable or disable the event logs, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Main Menu, type 5 to select System Administration.

The System Administration menu is shown in Figure 4 on page 46.

2. From the System Administration menu, type 8 to select Event Log.
