Preparing for installation and start-up: Generating profile data

The installation and start-up sequence for the prepared solution described below relates to the
parameterisable variant.

The Cross Cutter prepared solution is based on the "Electronic cam" technology function which
requires additional data (tables of values for cams). This data is project-specific and cannot be
provided by Lenze/can only be provided in restricted format by Lenze (in the form of a ready-to-
use file). The following section describes how to generate this additional data.

If you are using the "Electronic cam" technology function on the ServoPLC or ECS servo system
you will need an additional file (LC9 file) which is generated using Lenze's CamDesigner
software tool. CamDesigner writes all cam-relevant data to this file. Such data includes:

− Axis data for the master and cam axes (in the file header)

− Number of motion profiles and type of data model (in the file header)

− All motion profiles y = f(x) (motion profiles not defined by the user are predefined

automatically with a pause)

− Number of interpolation points for each motion profile (= number of interpolation points for

the torque precontrol profile)

− Information about decimal positions for master and cam cycle length (ensures that the drive

system will not drift)

− Torque precontrol profiles (profiles not defined by the user contain a zero signal)

− Rated number of cycles in order for the scaled torque precontrol profile to be scaled

correctly

− Cam switching points (not relevant for this application)

A basic cam file has to be generated because although the CrossCutterMotionProfileCalculation
function block is able to modify motion profiles, it cannot generate profile data in the first
instance. A step-by-step description of how to generate a basic LC9 file using an example
appears below
