Terrain Coloring
The terrain view and overlay is displayed during the following modes:
D
Ground and landing mode
D
Departure mode
D
En route and approach mode.
NOTE: When in ground, departure, or landing mode, the terrain color
threshold is moved up 300 feet so the surrounding area is not
displayed in red.
GROUND AND LANDING MODE
Ground mode is active when groundspeed is less than 40 knots.
Landing mode is active when less than 800 feet AGL, the distance to
the closest runway is less than 2 NM, and the aircraft is descending.
Table 8--2 lists the ground and landing mode coloring for the terrain view
and terrain overlay.
