Lifting Instructions

This publication will guide you through the steps needed to properly
lift and mount the following Drives on a vertical surface:

1397 DC Drives (60-600 HP)

!

ATTENTION: To guard against possible personal
injury or equipment damage . . .

• Do Not allow any part of the Drive or lifting mecha-

nism to make contact with electrically charged con-
ductors or components.

• At no time should a person or their limbs be directly

underneath the items being lifted.

• Do not subject the load to high rates of acceleration

or deceleration.

• Inspect all lifting hardware for proper attachment

before lifting Drive unit.

All lifting equipment and lifting components (Hooks, bolts, lifts,
slings, chains etc.) must have a minimum lifting capacity of 1,000 lb.

Perform the following steps to mount the Drive.
NOTE: Horizontal mounting is NOT permitted.

1.

Check the hole pattern on the panel to which the Drive will be
mounted. Refer to Figure 2 thru 5 for the correct pattern.

2.

Insert, but DO NOT fully tighten three bolts in the top holes of
the panel. Bolts must be fully threaded into the panel before
hanging the Drive as shown in Figure 1.
