System software upgrade examples

You can upgrade the system software by using the BootWare menus, the ISSU feature (see "Performing
ISSU"), or the methods described in "Upgrading software." This section describes how to upgrade the

system software using the BootWare menus.

Using XMODEM to upgrade software through the console port

1.

In the EXTEND-BOOTWARE menu, enter 2.
The Serial submenu appears:

Select the correct download baud rate.
In this example, enter 1 to select 9600 bps.

Change the baud rate of your terminal to match that set on the Serial submenu, close your
connection to the device and then reestablish the connection to make the terminal's baud rate

change take effect, and press Enter.
The Serial submenu appears again:
