Split Horizon Mode

- Select none, simple or poison reverse from the pulldown menu. Split horizon is a technique for

avoiding problems caused by including routes in updates sent to the router from which the route was originally

learned. The options are:

None

- no special processing for this case.

ƒ

Simple

- a route will not be included in updates sent to the router from which it was learned.

ƒ

Poisoned reverse

- a route will be included in updates sent to the router from which it was learned, but the

metric will be set to infinity.

The default is simple.

Auto Summary Mode

- Select enable or disable from the pulldown menu. If you select enable groups of adjacent

routes will be summarized into single entries, in order to reduce the total number of entries The default is enable.

Host Routes Select Mode

- Select enable or disable from the pulldown menu. If you select enable the router will be

accept host routes. The default is enable.

Default Information Originate

- Enable or Disable Default Route Advertise.

Default Metric

- Sets a default for the metric of redistributed routes.This field displays the default metric if one has

already been set or blank if not configured earlier. The valid values are (1 to 15)

Non-Configurable Data

Global Route Changes

- The number of route changes made to the IP Route Database by RIP. This does not

include the refresh of a route's age.

Global queries

- The number of responses sent to RIP queries from other systems.

Command Buttons

Submit

- Send the updated configuration to the switch. Configuration changes take effect immediately. These

changes will not be retained across a power cycle unless a save is performed.
