13.3 Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) Commands

This section provides a detailed explanation of the IGMP commands. The commands are divided into the following different

groups:

◆Show commands are used to display device settings, statistics and other information.

◆Configuration commands are used to configure features and options of the switch. For every configuration command there is

a show command that will display the configuration setting.

13.3.1 ip igmp

This command sets the administrative mode of IGMP in the router to active.

This command sets the administrative mode of IGMP in the router to inactive.

13.3.2 ip igmp version

This command configures the version of IGMP for an interface. The value for <version> is either 1, 2 or 3.

Default 3

no ip igmp version

This command resets the version of IGMP for this interface. The version is reset to the default value.

13.3.3 set igmp mcrtrexpiretime

This command sets the Multicast Router Present Expiration time on the system. This is the amount of time in seconds that a

switch will wait for a query to be received on an interface before the interface is removed from the list of interfaces with multicast

routers attached. The range is 0 to 3600 seconds. A value of 0 indicates an infinite timeout, i.e. no expiration.
