AADvance uses a single dedicated Ethernet port for HART passthru

communication.

Supports the AADvance DTM provided by Rockwell Automation.

A typical HART set up is shown below:

Configuring HART

HART variables can be configured on each analogue input or output channel to
monitor the HART field device and to enable the HART Passthru feature. Make sure

that your HART field devices support HART command 0 ('read unique ID') and

HART command 3 ('read current and four dynamic variables'), the AADvance

controller uses these commands to communicate with the HART devices.
AADvance provides HART loop current variables (available within T9K_AI_HART)

which are in addition to the channel variables for the 4 to 20mA loop. You can also

use the HART loop current variable for diagnostic checks; for example, it can be used
to compare with the value on the 4 to 20mA loop and react if there is a discrepancy.

Important Note: do not use the HART variables as the primary initiator for Safety
Functions
