A tick in the box enables the DiffServ function

3) Select a Value for TCP Negotiation

This option allows you to choose when the IP's ToS for TCP segments is set.

Assuming that your table has applicable rules for this traffic and that AADvance
is acting as a server:

If the TCP negotiation value is set to "no" the ToS value will not be applied

during the TCP 3-way handshake, it will only be applied once the connection is

made.

If the TCP negotiation value is set to "yes" then the new socket created will

"inherit" the ToS value of its parent, accepting socket will retain this value

during the 3-way negotiation.

Once the 3-way handshake is completed, the ToS value may be changed if a

new more specific rule then becomes applicable.

Note: If you wish a connection to be applied by ToS during the TCP negotiation
phase (setting a "yes" value) you must have Protocol and Port values set but no

Peer Address value. An entry without a peer address can be applicable to a
server socket used to accept new connections and can hence by "inherited".

4) Select a row and enter the values

You can set up 16 services with priority values.

Protocol: Select TCP
Port No: Select the Service by entering a Port Number, e.g. Port TCP: 55555

(designated as the telnet port when configured for an AADvance controller)

Note: If the AADvance controller is initiating the connection, the port no is the
number of the service of the device you are connecting to.

Peer Address: Enter a Peer Address for the device you are connecting with.

A peer address is only required if you need to set a priority for traffic from a

specific device.

A peer address is not applicable to UDP entries

Note: Do not enter a peer address if you want to set priority to traffic from any
or all devices that communicates with the AADvance controller.

ToS: Enter a priority value; a higher value sets a higher priority.
Range: 0 - 255

Default: 0

Note: You are free to set all 8 bits of the ToS byte, your networking equipment
may interpret this as a byte or as two fields - DiffServ and ECN

When the same service is entered more than once then a warning symbol appears in
the row after the ToS column.
