Attach or Remove a USB Key
Use a USB key to copy files to. Only use the network, FTP or RemoteCare™ options if instructed by
a service representative. You can use a floppy disk, but this may not hold all the files to transfer.
Prepare the instrument on the File transfer screen before connecting or disconnecting the USB
key.
Any running protocols will pause while the instrument is attempting to connect to the USB key.
Follow the instructions below to either connect or disconnect a USB key.
1. Open the File transfer screen (Control menu, File transfer).
2. Tap the Add/Remove USB device(s) button in the Remote connection type section.
3. Wait as prompted in the Add/Remove devices dialog box.
4. When the instrument is ready the message changes.
You have 30 seconds to add or remove the key before the function automatically times out –
plug or unplug your USB key into/from the USB port at the front of the instrument.
5. To continue either:

Tap the OK button from the Add/Remove devices dialog box, or

Wait for the auto-continue function to activate after 30 seconds.
6. The Updating devices dialog box now appears.
You may also see some additional dialog boxes as the instrument reconfigures. Ignore these
dialog boxes as they will cease to appear after approximately 10 seconds.
7. When all dialog boxes have closed:

Attach key: tap the USB Key button in the Remote connection type section.

Remove key: continue with normal operation. You have now completed these
instructions.
8. If you attached a USB key check the connection status at the bottom of the Remote
connection type section.
If the key is detected proceed to file transfer configuration.
If the key is not detected tap the Refresh button. If this does not work, remove the device
following these instructions, check that it is switched on (if required) then repeat these
installation instructions.
