General
Via the safe outputs you can output information to a higher-level unit (e. g. safety PLC) or
control external switching elements (actuators).
ƒ
The safe outputs are PP-switching, i. e. two plus channels are switched.
ƒ
The status of the safe outputs is controlled via the PROFIsafe output data.
ƒ
The safe outputs are only activated if the safety engineering as well as the PROFIsafe
operates faultlessly.
ƒ
Safe outputs in the ON status are cyclically tested by a short-term LOW-switching.
– With regard to the selection of the downstream control elements, observe that the
test pulses are not recognised as a LOW signal.
7.4.4.2
Connection of external actuators
The safe outputs O1A, O1B and O2A, O2B are suitable for the control of external actuators.
These errors are recognised:
ƒ
Short circuit to the supply voltage.
ƒ
In the ON state: short circuit between the output signals.
These errors are not recognised:
ƒ
In the OFF state: short circuit between the output signals.
