System and Sample Pumps

Instrument Guide

| 247

The pumps do not
deliver the correct flow
rate (continued).

Air bubbles might be trapped in
the pump heads, causing erratic
liquid delivery.

Note:

Always degas buffers

before use by stirring them
vigorously under vacuum for
approximately 20 min.

Important:

Use a

heavy-wall, side-arm
Erlenmeyer flask, as standard
flasks might implode under
vacuum.

Inspect the inlet lines, ensure
that the fittings are tight to
prevent air from leaking into
the system.

Reprime the pumps to
remove air that might be
trapped in the system.
