Enabling or Disabling a Spanning Tree Protocol

To enable or disable spanning tree on the switch or to select the active
spanning tree protocol, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Home page, select Configuration.

The System page is displayed with the General tab selected by
default, as shown in Figure 5 on page 38.

2. From the Configuration menu, select the Layer 2 option.

The Layer 2 page is displayed with the MAC Address tab selected by
default, as shown in Figure 25 on page 94.

3. Select the Spanning Tree tab.

The Spanning Tree tab is shown in Figure 123.

4. To select a spanning tree version, from the Active Protocol Version

parameter click STP, RSTP, or MSTP. The default is RSTP.

Note

Only one spanning tree protocol can be active on the switch at a
time.

5. To enable or disable spanning tree, click the Enable Spanning Tree

check box. A check indicates that the feature is enabled while no
check indicates that the feature is disabled. The default is disabled.
