OCR Substitution
For amounts it happens quite often that OCR confuses characters and reads an ‘O’
instead of an ‘0’ or ‘I’ instead of ‘1.’ Especially for amounts it is useful to compensate
such confused characters. Therefore you can define a list of predefined OCR
substitutions and use these substitution to automatically exchange the found
characters for a field as you know when you search for an amount, the amount can
not contain a ‘O’, but only digits.
To view the list of defined OCR substitutions, click OCR Substitution on the Profiles
tab of the Project Settings dialog box.
For a Format Locator you can activate “Use OCR substitution.“ Then, the defined
substitutions are used for the fields that have this locator assigned. To modify the list
of substitutions, click Define OCR substitution. The Project Settings dialog box is
displayed, showing the Profiles tab. Click OCR Substitution to show the OCR
substitutions dialog box to show the list of defined substitution and to modify it if
necessary. Be reminded that the list is used globally in the project.
You can add, delete, or modify these substitutions as desired.
