Assigning Hierarchical Class Trees

Ascent Xtrata Pro supports class hierarchies. Often the hierarchy reflects the
organizational rules of a company or is used to improve classification. Since Ascent
Capture does not support such hierarchies, the project tree has to be mapped to a flat
list of document classes and form types.

Note

While it is possible to pass the classification result to Ascent Capture by

assigning it to the specific form type associated with that class, this is not mandatory.
It is also possible to assign all classes to a common form type and then store the
classification result in an index field. This latter case is especially useful if there are
many sub–classes, and all the classes have the same extraction fields. A typical
example is an invoice project with hundreds of vendors. In this case, the vendor ID
or vendor name should be passed as an index field value. Assigning index fields is
described in more detail below.

Hierarchical trees can be assigned manually class by class or automatically, if a
parent node is selected.

When you use “Create Document Class and Form Type for each selected class” for a
class that contains sub–nodes (derived classes), a warning is displayed.
