To select a table model

1

Select Show Extraction Design from the Mode toolbar.

2

Click Add Locator from the Locator toolbar.

3

Select Table Locator as the locator method in the second column of the list.

4

Double-click the new locator or use the Locator Properties button in the
toolbar to display the Table Locator Properties dialog box.

5

Decide what kind of table this locator is supposed to find and select an
appropriate model from the drop down list.

Deciding which mode

There are 2 ways to find a table: Automatically or manually. The two modes are
explained in detail below.

If you select automatic mode, the Table Locator also requires a Format Locator that
finds amounts on the document.

Note

The Format Locator must appear before the Table Locator in the list of locators.

If necessary you can use the arrow buttons in the toolbar to rearrange the locators.

Once the Format Locator has been defined, you need to choose one or more language
packages. For example, if you are working on a project with English invoices, you
would select the English language package from the list. If the list is empty, go to
Projects Settings and define or import language packages.

If the manual mode was selected, you need to provide a sample image, show the
locator a sample line item and define where the columns are in that item. This is
explained more detailed below.

Methods of Finding Tables

The Table Locator offers two methods for locating tables on a document:

Automatic

The automatic method finds invoice automatically. The locator makes use of the
results of an Amount Locator that must be defined and placed before the Table
Locator in the list of locators (in this sense the Table Locator is similar to the
evaluators).
