Ascent Xtrata Pro User's Guide

Calculate Training Set - calculates the Result Matrix for

the current Training Set.

Statistics - displays the Class Based Precision and
Recall dialog box that shows the statistics for the
currently calculated documents.

Graph

There are several ways to navigate the result matrix, scroll bars are not provided.

• If you left click the graph and drag, you can rotate the graph.
• If you right click and drag, you can move the graph within the viewer pane.
• Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
• Right click a vertical bar to see a context menu. Select Display in Document

Viewer to view the documents that belong to this set with the document
viewer. Select Display in Selection List to view the documents in this set as
list. This closes the Result Matrix view and returns you to the Classification
Results mode with the Selection List displayed.

Based on the Results Matrix, you can now evaluate classification performance, and if
desired optimize the training set by, for example, adding a new class and moving
problem documents to the training set of the new class.

First right click the vertical bar for those documents and select Display in Selection
List from the context menu. Next, you can check the documents in the Selection
working mode and move the documents from Selection panel to the correct class (if
necessary, add a new class first).

Test Folder Panel

Use this panel to select a directory to display sample documents in order to add
documents to a training set either for classification or extraction.

Remember that an extraction training set is only used for field group locators.

When the Test Folder list is chosen, all files from the currently selected folder are
shown on the lower right side of the interface. You can choose a folder to display by
clicking Recent Test Folders from the

Test Folder toolbar or by using the browse

button on the same toolbar. You can add selected documents to the training set by
clicking “Add to Training Set of Selected Class.”
