By default the standard amount formatter requires a decimal point, (for example 2.00
or 2,00) otherwise an error message is displayed. For example, if you use 2 for the
Subtotal field, the following error message is displayed.

During production, the validation formatting assigned to the extraction field is used.

General Tab

The General tab has settings for the tax model, tax rates and testing.

Tax Model

The tax model is a general setting that governs how tax rates and tax amounts
can be computed. It defines the relationship between net amounts, the total
amount and all the tax amounts. Invoice validation supports two general tax
models. A project can use only one tax model.
“With VAT” is the default. The Amount Validation area shows the formula used
to calculate the total and other amounts. This formula will change according to
the selected tax model.

With VAT – This tax model applies to nearly all countries in Europe. It

contains a set of well known tax rates, typically a normal tax rate and a
reduced tax rate. Additional tax rates can be defined using the Tax Rates panel
where different tax rates can be used. The SubTotal amount for an invoice (the
full invoice amount without taxes and without additional costs) has to be
separated into net amounts for each tax rate.
For each NetAmount and TaxAmount pair, there must be a predefined tax rate
where

NetAmount * TaxRate = TaxAmount

A way to validate the total amount is to calculate the sum of all NetAmount +
TaxAmount pairs.

Sales and Use Taxes - Several optional sales or use taxes can be applied to the

net amount. Typically all sales taxes will be applied to the same net amount.
