5.2.4 Creating ATM sub-interfaces

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1

Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2

Run:

interface atm interface-number.subnumber [ p2mp I p2p ]

The command configure an ATM sub-interface.

sub interface-number

ranges from 1 to 1024.

In practice, a main interface can support up to 1024 sub-interfaces.

The default type of an ATM sub-interface is P2MR

For the detail about ATM sub-interface configuration, refer to "ATM Configuration."

5.2.5 Checking the configuration

Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.

Description : Huawei, Quidway Series, Serial7/0/0.1 Interface

The Maximum Transmit Unit is 1500 bytes, Hold timer is 10(sec)

Internet protocol processing : disabled

Link-protocol is X.25

Subinterface type: multipoint

Last 300 seconds input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec
