6.13 Troubleshooting

This section provides troubleshooting methods for the following faults:

Physical link is not in the up state

Link is always in the down state

CHAP authentication of a PPP link fails

MP configured through the VT works abnormally

6.13.1 Physical link is not in the up state

Fault description

Using the

display interface

command to check the current state of the interface, the physical

link cannot change into the state of Up.

Serial3/1/0 current state : DOWN

Line protocol current state : DOWN

Fault analysis

The possible causes are:

The interfaces are not connected correctly or the contact is poor.

The physical attributes configured on the interfaces of the both ends are not consistent.

Troubleshooting procedure
