7 LAPB and X.25 configuration

Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series

Configuration -WAN Access

# Configure other LAPB parameters. (If the link is of good quality, and a higher rate is

required, you can increase the traffic control parameter modulo to 128 and the window-size

can be increased to 127. The parameters must be the same on both directly connected ends.)

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] lapb module 128

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] lapb window-size 127

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] shutdown

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] undo shutdown

Step 2

Configure Router B.

# Configure the interface.

<RouterB> system-view

[RouterB] interface serial1/0/0

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] ip address 202.38.160.2 255.255.255.0

# Configure the link layer protocol of the interface as LAPB and specify its operating mode as
DCE.

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] link-protocol lapb dce

# Configure other LAPB parameters. (If the link is of good quality, and a higher rate is

required, you can increase the traffic control parameter modulo to 128 and the window-size

can be increased to 127. The parameters must be the same on both directly connected ends.)

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] lapb modulo 128

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] lapb window-size 127

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] shutdown

[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] undo shutdown

Step 3

Verify the configuration.

# Using the

display interface

command, you can view the configuration of the interface. For

example, the following displays the configuration of Serial 1/0/0 on Router A.
