2.4.2 Setting loopback to detect whether the interface is normal

A

Setting the loopback (running the

loopback command) causes the interfaces of the router or

the links to not work normally. Confirm the action before you set the loopback to detect the

interface.

When the router is faulty, set the local loopback to detect whether the interface works
normally. To set the local loopback function, run the following commands in the interface
view.

CD NOTE

Only physical synchronous serial interfaces support the

loopback

command in the interface view. The

channelized serial interfaces do not support the loopback command in the interface view. For the E1/T1
channel on the CPOS interfaces, the channel loopback can be implemented. For details, refer to the

"E-carrier and T-carrier Interface Configuration" in this manual.
