10.6 Configuring the PPPoA application
10.6.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
To enable the ATM to carry PPPoA packets, you need to create PVC first.
Configure the PPPoA application mapping on the PVC to enable the AAL5 to carry PPPoA
packets.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before configuring PPPoA applications, complete the following tasks:
• Configuring physical attributes for the ATM interface
• Creating a virtual template (VT) and configuring its IP address and mask
Data preparation
To configure PPPoA applications, you need the following data.

2 IP address and mask of the ATM interface or sub-interface
3 PVC name, ATM network VPI and VCI
4 AAL5 encapsulation type
