8.15 Troubleshooting

This section provides troubleshooting methods for the following faults:

Failure of binding MFR interface to a specified interface

Failure of pinging the peer after configuring the frame relay

Failure of pinging the peer after configuring the frame relay switch over IP

Only one end can ping through the other end after configuring the frame relay PVC

8.15.1 Failure of binding MFR interface to a specified interface

Fault description

Failed to bind the current interface to a specified MFR interface.

Fault analysis

The possible cause is that the slot number of MFR interface is not in accordance with that of

the bound interface.

Troubleshooting procedure

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1

Check whether the slot number of the MFR and that of the bundle interface are consistent by

using the

display current-configuration interface mfr

command.

Step 2

Re-create an MFR interface by using the

interface mfr

command if the slot numbers are

different.
